Driver Pauline Sheghu and co-driver Linet Ayuko head into this year's championship with growing confidence, determined to convert experience into silverware on one of the toughest circuits in the World Rally Championship calendar.
Having completed three consecutive Safari Rally editions between 2023 and 2025, the duo believes consistency and endurance have laid the foundation for a serious podium challenge.
Each year, they have battled the unforgiving terrain, steadily building momentum in a sport where survival is often victory in itself.
Now, their ambition is clear, finish strong and stand among the top crews.
"By the grace of God, we will push that car to the end because we are going to see all of you coming to the podium just to celebrate with us," Sheghu said confidently.
The crew, competing under the rally identity Queen of the Dust, say the journey over the past three seasons has strengthened both their technical coordination and mental resilience, which are key ingredients for success in a rally known for punishing even the most seasoned international drivers.
“So it's something that we are looking forward to because of this support. We don’t take it for granted. We appreciate it,” added Sheghu.
Their podium push is also symbolic. In a discipline traditionally dominated by male competitors, the Kenyan pair continues to break barriers while inspiring more women to venture into motorsport.
As engines roar to life in Naivasha next month, Sheghu and Ayuko will not merely be chasing a finish line but chasing a moment, one where the Kenyan flag rises on the podium at one of rallying's most demanding stages.
