Kerr rues Tuyisenge absence as Gor, Everton face-off in historic friendly
Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has decried the absence of lead striker Jacques Tuyisenge as Gor Mahia prepare to face-off with Everton in a friendly match tonight at Goodison Park.
The dependable K’Ogalo striker failed to acquire a visa to the UK last evening where he was penciled to link up with the rest of his team members who are already in England, effectively locking him out of the historic friendly to be played at 39,572 seater stadium from 10pm.
Kerr is however optimistic his boys can force an impressive result.
“I have been watching each and every Everton player and I have nothing to worry about except the number of open scoring chances my boys have been squandering during training,’’ Kerr said.
In the absence of Tuyisenge, the goal-scoring burden will be on the shoulders of young Burundian striker Francis Mustapha.
Mustapha will be assisted by George ‘Blackberry’’ Odhiambo in the striking department while creative Francis Kahata, lanky Humphrey Mieno and the burly Ernest Wendo are expected to anchor them in midfield.
Last night the K’Ogalo playing unit was paid a courtesy call by team patron Raila Odinga, Sports PS Kirimi Kaberia, and Ronald Kariuri, who gave the playing unit a Ksh 2.1 cash token as a motivation ahead of the clash.
Everton Manager Marco Silva yesterday downplayed any chances of Gor Mahia emerging winners saying his main focus is on the Sunday EPL match against Fulham.
This however did not go down well with K’Ogalo tactician Dylan Kerr who told his boys to be focused on this big match and get a memorable result.
Gor are expected to have an easy day ahead of the game with visits to historical sites in Liverpool on the Day’s programme.
