Kip Keino Classic: Fraser-Pryce blasts to a world leading time at Kasarani
Fraser-Pryce, a nine-time world champion who was competing for the first time on African soil said she wants to build on her performance.
"It was a very good atmosphere having the Kenyan fans cheering me from the stands. They have been asking for me and I hope I gave them a great show.
"This is my first 100m outdoor race and I hope to better my results as the season unfolds," said Pryce.
Bassant Hemida of Egypt finished second in a personal best of 11.02 as Shannon Ray of USA clocked 11.33 to finish third.
Olympic 200m silver medallist Christine Mboma of Namibia did not finish after pulling a muscle cramp and had to be stretchered off.
In the men's 3,000m steeplechase, national champion Abraham Kibiwott took victory in 8:21.92 ahead of Ethiopia's Samuel Dugina who finished second in 8:27.40
Olympic bronze medallist Benjamin Kigen closed the podium in 8:30.28
In the women's 800m race, Prudence Sekgodiso of South Africa took top honours in 1:58.41
Kenyan duo of Mary Moraa (1:59.87) and Naomi Korir (2:00.6) finished second and third respectively.
