marathon world record when he ran two hours and 35 seconds, becoming the first
man to run a marathon in under two hours and one minute.
He will, however, face off with world 100 and
200-meter champion Noah Lyles of USA and world pole vault champion Mondo Duplantis of
Sweden, world shot-out champion Ryan Crouser of USA, world javelin champion
Neeraj Chopra of India.
The winner will be announced in an awards gala to be held on December 11 in Monaco, France.
