Kisii ready to host the sixth edition of KICOSCA Games

Kisii Governor James Ongwae has said that the county is more than ready to host the sixth edition of KICOSCA Games which are scheduled to take place from August 12-18 at the Gusii Stadium.

Speaking during a breakfast meeting with various stakeholders on Thursday, Ongwae said that the county is privileged to host the games, adding that the competition will provide an opportunity for the county to showcase its heritage.

He appealed to the local organizing committee, which is chaired by his deputy governor, Joash Maangi, to work closely with all stakeholders to ensure the event is a success.

Maangi, on his part, appealed to the community to join hands and own the event.

The Deputy Governor appealed to the business community and other stakeholders to chip in and support the event financially and through other forms of sponsorship.

Kisii County Commissioner, Geoffrey Kigochi, who also attended the event that the  security apparatus has been mobilised and will work closely with the organising committee to ensure that security measures are put in place.

About 10,000 participants from all the 47 counties are expected to pitch camp in Kisii town and its environs during the event.
