Football Kenya Federation Women's Premier League side Kisped Queens have signed new players ahead of the new football season in the country.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, the club's head coach, Daniel
Minjis confirmed the signing of new players as the team seeks to start their
new campaign on a firm footing.
Anne Akinyi from Kolwa, Euster Maina from Makolandas, as well
as Okwado and Tecy from Bandari Queens have all joined Kisped Queens as Minjis
believes his charges will finish the 2025/2026 football season in a better
position.
In their debut season, Kisped Queens finished in the
seventh position on the log of the Women's Premier League with Minjis linking
the performance to lack of experience.
"Last season was not easy for us but we managed to avoid
relegation. It was our first season playing in the top tier but we managed to
stay afloat," Minjis said.
At the same time, Kisped Queens released some of their
players, including Linda Okoside, who joined Ulinzi, Linda Eugine and Benter
Oluoch, who moved to Kibera Queens, while Sarah Opondo was signed by TUK.
The opening fixtures of the 2025/26 season are scheduled for
the weekend of September 27 and 28, where Kisped Queens will begin their
campaign with an away clash against Zetech Sparks.
