Kisumu All Starlets head coach Juma Said has cited the team’s
blunt attack and lack of creativity for their dismal performance in 2024/25 Kenya
Women's Premier League.
Speaking to Citizen
Digital, Said noted that his centre forward Monicah Etot was not in her best
form, and so were the other attackers, which contributed to their poor goal
return.
"The girls played well but we did not maximize our
chances because our main striker Monicah Etot was not in her usual form. It
made the coordination upfront difficult," Said stated.
The tactician further revealed that the FKF Women's Premier
League side is preparing for next season with strategic signings, as he hopes
to rope in new players, including strikers, a goalkeeper, and central
midfielders as part of preparations for the upcoming campaign.
He has at the same time stressed the need of securing sponsors,
as financial constraints were a major challenge last term.
"It is very difficult to play in the league without
money. Most of our players come from far and so we just need finances to
sustain them. Going into the new season without a sponsor will be a great
challenge to us," he noted.
The Queens from Kisumu County finished just one spot above
the relegation zone, narrowly escaping the drop, to safeguard their top-tier
status.
