Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) staged a spirited comeback on Saturday evening to beat arch-rivals General Service Unit (GSU) 3-1 in a gripping Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) clash, forcing a decisive match to be played tomorrow.
Having lost in straight sets in their previous outing, the
Dockers stepped onto the court with renewed energy and a clear mission, to stay
alive in the competition.
KPA edged out a tightly contested first set 25-23, showing
much-needed composure in crunch moments.
GSU, however, struck back in the second with an equally
narrow 25-23 win, leveling the match and hinting at another close finish.
But the third set saw a clear shift in momentum. KPA
dominated from the start, leaving GSU trailing with lack of coordination.
The Dockers ran away with the set 25-16, reasserting control
and turning the tide of the match.
In the fourth set, KPA didn’t let up. With powerful serves, solid blocks, and aggressive net play, they kept GSU on the back foot and sealed the set 25-19 much to the delight of the fans.
