LadyBucks pick positives in sports ban, source for sponsors

Despite many clubs lamenting on the government’s directive that banned all sporting activities owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) women’s premier league side LadyBucks are looking at the positive side of it.

Broke and newly admitted to the top-tier league, LadyBucks head coach Michael Dave says the ban will help them source for resources and sponsors so that they can be able to honour their away matches.

“The suspension has helped us so that we can mobilize resources though it’s difficult but at least we have more time now,” Dave said.

Dave added that the move will also make them have ample preparations bearing in mind they’re debutants in the top division.

“The suspension will help us to train and prepare more for the league matches. We will try and look for ways of training and hoping the league will again resume soon so that we are able to play,” Dave added.

LadyBucks had only played one match against KPA at their home court in Kisumu and had failed to honour their first two matches in Nairobi against Storms and Strathmore due to financial constraints.

The Kisumu based club have been operating without a sponsor and the situation has made life unbearable at the club.
