Leopards coach Trucha resigns at long last
AFC Leopards head coach Thomas Trucha has made good his threat and quit the troubled club this afternoon.
Citizen Digital exclusively reported on Wednesday that the Czech Republic coach was set to throw in the towel after his manager Prince Kofi complained of threats towards him and his client on matters fielding of players.
A Ghanaian player in question is said to be omitted from the 30-man list of players to feature this season yet he was in Trucha’s plans with club chairman Dan Shikanda saying that they were working on his documents first before registering him.
The developments prompted the club’s chiefs to hold a crisis meeting Thursday afternoon with Shikanda confirming Trucha’s exit barely two months after his appointment.
At the same time, the club has also re-appointed Anthony Kimani to take charge of the team on interim basis.
Leopards managed to silence Tusker FC 2-1 on Saturday at Kasarani Stadium, in their opening tie to mark a strong start to their campaign.
