Leopards seek revival at Wazito after derby loss
AFC Leopards will aim to return to winning ways against Wazito FC on Wednesday following their 2-0 weekend derby defeat to Gor Mahia FC in Kasarani.
The loss allowed Gor to wrap up the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title in a match that witnessed ugly scenes of fan chaos with midfielder Whyvonne Isuza also missing a crucial penalty.
Bandari also seized that chance to leapfrog Leopards into second on the KPL table but Ingwe could yet regain their place at least until Saturday with a win in Machakos .
It will be a tough outing for Wazito noting that Leopards had won all their five league games prior to facing K’Ogalo. With the newbies at the thick of relegation and struggling to register points, Frank Ouna can only hope that his boys will be at their best and at the very least, collect a point.
Sofapaka will come up against Posta Rangers and will want to avoid dropping points further after two consecutive losses. The Batoto ba Mungu are fourth on 44 points and victory will overhaul their points tally to 47. They will remain in fourth even if AFC Leopards fail to get a point.
William Muluya will be looking for another win at the Machakos Stadium when Kariobangi Sharks collide with Thika United.
Sharks were 1-0 winners against Sofapaka on Sunday and playing a bottom placed Thika, who are not collecting any points, will deem it a winnable tie They lie on ninth with 37 points and can jump to tenth on 40 if they register maximum points.
Elsewhere, Tusker will host Chemelil Sugar at Ruaraka as Ulinzi stars face Nakumatt at the Afraha Stadium. A win for the brewers will move them to fifth spot on 43 points if the soldiers on 41 fail to win. A draw for Tusker and a loss for Ulinzi will see both sides go level on 41 points.
