Luanda Villa playing unit and the team management has buried the hatchet at long last with the players ending their go slow, Team Head Coach Tom Tera has said.

Tera says Villa’s 1-0 victory against Assad FC created the opportunity for the playing unit to engage the management to air out their frustrations in view of finding lasting solutions.

“We had a meeting immediately after the victory. We have agreed that hard stances from both parties would be detrimental to the team’s growth hence we opted for a truce,” he explained. “We will resume our training at Mumboha on December 27 in preparations for next year’s National Super League fixture,” Tera said, assuring that Luanda Villa technical bench and the management had ironed out their differences.

Due to the one week players’ strike, Tera says he had to sit down with the players encouraging them to honour the Sunday’s fixture against Assad at Mumboha Sports ground.

“I was away with the County government’s team for Talanta Hela when Villa lost to Darajani Gogo 2-1. I thank the players because they listened to my advice to return to the pitch; hence we trained only for one day. I dwelt on the strengths of the team having noted our opponent’s game plan in a past match,” Tera revealed, saying Luanda Villa lost numerous chances but a win amidst the tribulations the team had faced last week was “satisfactory”.

However, it is not the first time Luanda Villa is coming from a go slow to beat their opponents.

“It’s a good revenge against Assad FC who cut short our ambitions to qualify to the National Super League in 2020 at Camp Toyoyo. Last season we did not train for one week but managed to beat Kakamega Green Commandos 2-1 in a critical Division One fixture. In this situation, I concentrate on the team’s strength and mental character of the players to outwit the opponents,” Tera said.
