Malkia Strikers ace Moim loses husband in tragic road accident

The national women’s volleyball team captain Mercy Moim is
in mourning after losing her husband Joseph Asuza in a tragic road accident on
Sunday.
The accident occurred along the Thika Super Highway in Nairobi,
near the Mathari Hospital, Citizen Digital has gathered.
Confirming the developments, Kenya Volleyball Federation
Secretary Ismael Chege mourned the departed saying the federation will offer
support to the decorated volleyball ace Moim during “this difficult time of
grief”.
The Kenya Volleyball Federation is mourning the death of the
husband of our Captain Moim...we request all the volleyballers wherever they
are to support and keep Moim in prayers during this trying moment," Chege
said.
Moim is at the moment in Ghana with Malkia Strikers for the
All African Games but is expected to take a flight home in light of the
developments.
“The federation is trying to get her a flight home, she
should be here tonight or tomorrow[Tuesday,” Chege said in a phone interview.
According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, the
accident occurred at 13:30hrs Sunday, near the Mathari Hospital.
“The victim sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to
Guru Nanak Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The body is
awaiting postmortem,” the police report read in part.
