Morgan Schneiderlin is close to signing for Manchester United from Southampton after the two clubs agreed on a deal.

The 25-year-old Frenchman has reportedly undergone a medical with the Old Trafford club and is set to complete a move in excess of £25 million, according to ESPN.

The move will end Schneiderlin’s seven-year stay at Southampton, which has seen him play in three divisions for the club.

Schneiderlin now looks set to join Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger on United’s pre-season tour of the United States.

United have already signed PSV forward Memphis Depay and Torino defender Matteo Darmian this summer.

Southampton confirmed they had rejected a bid from United for the France international last week, though subsequent discussions in the past few days seem to have bore fruit.

Schneiderlin is set to join Louis van Gaal, Schweinsteiger and their new teammates on their flight to Seattle for the start of their US tour on Monday afternoon.
