Mbungo the reason why I joined Bandari Kimani

Bandari FC assistant coach Antony “Modo” Kimani says he could not resist the opportunity to reunite with his mentor Andre Cassa Mbungo at Bandari because he wanted to ‘learn from the best’.

Kimani who resigned from AFC Leopards early last month worked under Mbungo at the den until 2019 when the Rwandese tactician resigned and he believes it’s a step in the right direction in his career.

“It was an opportunity to learn great things under my mentor  with whom we had worked together at AFC Leopards and during that time I learned a lot from him, so as much as other teams wanted me to join them Bandari was the best choice for me because while here I will grow my skills,” said Modo.

The youthful tactician added that Twahir Muhiddin’s knowledge of the game is also a big advantage to his coaching career growth.

“He is a senior CAF instructor who can teach me a lot of things from his experience in the game . He is  is amazing, he understands a lot in terms of improving this beautiful game and I believe together we can help the team and the players to win titles for the fans,” Kimani said of the veteran Muhiddin, the club’s technical director.

With 14 matches played the Dockers are third on the log and Modo believes the hunger among the players and management to win titles is the reason behind their recent upturn in form.

“The hunger in the playing unit and the technical bench is amazing, the structures set by the club’s management is sure plan that will guarantee the club success in future, so with hard work and determination I’m sure we will make our fans happy ,”the youthful tactician concluded.
