Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA FC) has strengthened its squad as the
battle for a place in the top flight intensifies, announcing the signings of
Nairobi City Stars striker Joshua Amunike and experienced midfielder Steve
Brian.
Amunike
joins the White Rhinos from City Stars after an impressive spell that yielded
eight goals and two assists.
The
forward adds proven firepower to an already competitive MOFA attack, giving the
technical bench more cutting edge as the club pushes to secure automatic
promotion.
His
arrival is seen as a major statement of intent as MOFA looks to turn chances
into crucial points in the business end of the season.
Also
joining the White Rhino herd is midfield dynamo Steve Brian, who makes the move
from Naivas FC.
Known
for his composure and leadership in the middle of the park, Steve brings
valuable experience and tactical balance, offering MOFA greater flexibility and
stability during high-pressure fixtures.
His
presence is expected to enhance ball circulation and provide a steady link
between defence and attack.
MOFA
currently sits third on the log with 32 points and occupies one of the coveted
automatic promotion slots. However, the top margins remain tight. They trail
league leaders Migori Youth by four points and are just two points behind
second-placed Mombasa United.
With
the promotion race heating up, every result carries weight.
The
new signings come at a critical moment following MOFA’s 1–1 draw against Nzoia
Sugar, a result that underlined both their resilience and the need for extra
sharpness in front of goal.
With
several challenging fixtures ahead, depth and quality will be key as the White
Rhinos aim to maintain their top-three position.
