This marks a notable shift as Magige makes his return to the team that he once played for, reinforcing the club's midfield strength.
Magige is one of eight players who have signed with Mombasa Stars during the January transfer window of the 2025-26 season.
The new signings include Ballack Hosea from Shimanzi FC, Ramadhan Mwanzia from Mombasa United, Athman Kakunde and Kai Kombo from Mvita Youngsters, Imulya Orute, John Musyoka from Tum Dynamos, and Ibrahim Athman, all adding fresh energy to the squad.
Mombasa Stars’ head coach, Hussein Madaga, explained that the club was forced to make these signings due to the departure of key players, leaving gaps in the team that needed to be filled swiftly.
"We've lost nine players, and this has been a recurring issue for us. We have natural talent, but as soon as we develop them, other teams swoop in, forcing us to go back to the drawing board," noted Madaga.
"I'm glad we've brought in new players, and we're hopeful they'll quickly gel with the rest of the team, helping us get back on track and where we truly belong," added Coach Madaga.
Additionally, Mombasa Stars have confirmed the departure of nine players. Notably, Alfred Maningi has joined MOFA, Iddi Rashid has signed with Luanda Villa, while Hajj Babu, Kombo Khamis, Sammy Baya, Jaffer Kale, Fahim Omar, AbdulAmin Mwaranjira and Masud Chirangu have all left the club, with Chirangu moving to Bumbani FC.
Mombasa Stars are currently in 17th place on the National Super League standings with 18 points, only one point above the relegation zone.
They are preparing for a challenging home fixture against Migori Youth this Sunday, March 9.
