The soldiers made a sluggish start, allowing the Dockers to take early control and maintain their advantage throughout the contest.
“We had a slow start from both teams and took time to settle into the game. I felt we didn’t move the ball the way we should have, and our shot selection was poor.
“We missed a number of easy layups and even struggled at the free-throw line. The Dockers took full advantage, punishing us for our turnovers and converting on the other end,” said Mufutu.
The defeat exposed key weaknesses in Ulinzi’s play, particularly in handling pressure against experienced opposition.
“Going forward, there are issues we have to work on as we progress in the league. We are making mistakes that are proving too costly, especially in high-stakes games.
“When you are up against a well-seasoned team, you simply can’t afford such errors because it becomes very difficult to recover,” he added.
The result leaves Ulinzi Warriors seeking quick improvements as they aim to remain competitive in the Kenya National Men’s Basketball Premier League.
The soldiers have so far accumulated four points from three matches played, winning one and losing two.
