Legue bottom side Nzoia United new head coach Mike Muiruri is optimistic his
struggling side will avoid relegation at the end of the season.
In an
interview with Citizen Digital, Muiruri, who took over the reins last
week, said he will work with the team’s young core to establish a strong squad
that will fight to duck the chop.
"Nzoia
has young players, and I know they are skilled. We will use the two weeks
before the resumption of the league to train and work on simple mistakes.
“To
our fans; despite the team being at the bottom of the league, keep believing
and praying for us," said Muiruri.
The
coach further added that he will leverage his experience to help the struggling
side to stabilize as they aim to climb higher on the FKF-Premier League table.
"If
we win in the next three matches we remain in the league. I will help the team
as much as I can to ensure that we reclaim the team's good performance,"
Muiruri stated.
Muiruri's
appointment comes following the dismissal of Steve Biko who failed to inspire his
side to record better results.
Nzoia
Club are currently at the bottom of the league with 17 points, and are hoping Muiruri
will help them maintain their status at the end of the season.
