With the second round of the 2025–26 Kenya Premier League (KPL) gathering momentum, Kenya Police FC head coach Nicholas Muyoti has challenged his forward line to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to realise their ambition of finishing in the top four.

The former Nairobi United head coach was speaking earlier this week after his side held to a 1–1 draw by relegation-threatened Bidco United at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi.

Muyoti lamented the missed opportunities by his attackers, noting that his team created several clear-cut chances in both halves but failed to capitalise on them.

He singled out Clinton Kinanga and Burkina Faso import Yves Koutiama, saying their scoring chances went begging due to a lack of precision in front of goal.

“Koutiama has been good in the recent past and has been on form, having scored four times in six matches. However, he missed an opportunity that we all expected him to score. On the bench, we were already waiting for a celebration moment, but he squandered it,” lamented Muyoti.

“In the second half, we brought in Kinanga to try and give us the edge that was missing, but he still did not manage to finish off his chances, and we ended up not scoring when we had the opportunity to do so,” he added.

According to the tactician, the outcome would have been different had his forwards been sharper in front of goal, especially after squandering three gilt-edged chances.

“Had we converted those two clear chances and others that were in a 50/50 situation, the result would have been different and we would have bagged maximum points. However, all is not lost. We are going back to the drawing board to ensure our forward line is sharpened and ready to deliver the results we want,” vowed Muyoti.

Police had to fight hard to secure a point after equalising in stoppage time through Yves Koutiama, who cancelled out an earlier goal scored by Victor Kinyili for Bidco United five minutes from time.

The defending champions currently sit fifth on the league table with 29 points after 19 rounds of matches.

Police will next face Ulinzi Stars on Sunday. Ulinzi are placed 15th on the standings with 17 points from 19 games.
