Muyoti in talks with Homeboyz over coaching role

Nzoia Sugar FC boss Nicholas Muyoti has admitted to being approached by Kakamega Homeboyz over a possible move to replace Paul Nkata as the club’s head coach.

Muyoti says he has yet to make a decision regarding his future but negotiations with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side are still ongoing.

Muyoti’s Nzoia are currently ranked eighth in the KPL with 17 points while Kakamega Homeboyz, who fired Ugandan tactician Nkata last month over match-fixing allegations, are three places drift with 14 points.

Ugandan tactician was dismissed last month with accusations he was involved in match-fixing, according to club chairman Cleophas Shimanyula.

Shimanyula claimed that the former Muhoroni Youth, Bandari FC and Tusker FC boss fixed the outcomes of two Homeboyz matches against Mathare United on January 19 and against Sony Sugar on January 2. Homeboyz lost the two matches 3-2 and 2-1 respectively.

Homeboyz captain Allan Wanga was immediately appointed to take charge in acting capacity as a player coach.
