The 2026
NCBA Golf Series heads to the Kenyan coast this Saturday for the
Mombasa Golf Club Mug, marking the fourth leg of this year’s
circuit.
More
than 80 Golfers will converge at the historic coastal course seeking
top honours and valuable qualification slots to the season-ending
Grand Finale.
Qualification
to the Grand Finale, set to be held later in the year at the prestigious Karen
Country Club, will be earned by the Overall Gross Winner, Men’s Gross Winner,
Lady Gross Winner, Division 2 Men Winner, Division 2 Lady Winner, Division 3
Winner, and the leading Junior.
Last
year, Gurbux Singh delivered a commanding round of 77 to clinch the
Overall Gross Winner title, with George Githinji carding an
impressive 72 strokes off handicap 8
to emerge Division One winner.
Division
Two witnessed standout performances, with Clifford Tolo posting a remarkable 64
to secure top honours, narrowly ahead of Sam Muraya, who
finished on 65. George Mokaya completed the podium places with a score of
71.
In
Division Three, Salim Taib triumphed with a score of 69, followed closely
by Vincent Muriungi on 70, while Paul Munyao sealed third place after returning
71.
Singh,
Githinji, Tolo and Taib went on to represent Mombasa Golf Club at the
Grand Finale and will be hoping to do so again this year when
they take to the course on Saturday.
NCBA
Group Managing Director John Gachora stated, “The NCBA Golf Series
brings communities together and challenges golfers to push their limits. As we
head to Mombasa for the fourth leg of the season, we are excited to see players
continue to embody this year’s theme of ‘Conquering the Course.’
“The
Coast has always delivered exceptional talent and spirit, and we look forward
to another memorable weekend.
“Juniors
will also be in action at Limuru and this further shows
our commitment to growing the game, from the most basic level to the
professional level so that we can experience more of what we experienced from
Njoroge Kibugu at the Magical Kenya Open last week.”
Meanwhile,
junior golfers will also be in action this weekend as the NCBA US Kids Golf
Spring Local Tour continues with its second leg at Limuru Golf Club on
Sunday.
The tour
teed off earlier this month at Vet Lab Sports Club on February 15, 2026, and
continues to provide a competitive platform for emerging young talent.
