By Brian KaiNzoia Football Club Chairman Club Yapets Mokua says there is an urgent need to sign new players to salvage the team’s season after the team’s woeful 5-2 defeat at the hands of the equally struggling Shabana FC.
Mokua attributed the team's dismal performance in their
weekend match to the porousness in their defence.
"We will need to sign in more players, around seven or
eight, so that we can capitalise on our strength. The FKF League is a tough one
and therefore requires highly seasoned players," said Mokua.
"The goals Shabana got were just easy ones. The players
in the defence lagged behind a little. They are however well prepared now and
we hope to win in the coming matches," Mokua added.
At the same time Bungoma Queens head coach Robert Machio says
his team was not adequately prepared leading to their 3-1 defeat at the hands
of Ulinzi Starlets.
Machio however said that the team would be ready by weekend
for their next match and urged their fans to be patient with them.
"Our competitors sort of got us on a bad day and beat
us 3- 1. Our preparation was not at par, the girls also came in a little late to
camp. Ulinzi utilised the opportunity and used all their chances to the
maximum," Machio stated.
