Organizers lead by Kajiado Football Kenya Federation (FKF)
branch chairman Alex Musikeri lauded the participants for showing a high level of
skill and discipline in the tournament, which attracted 22 men teams and six
women teams.
“We had a lot of challenges despite and having just a few
sponsors, we managed to host all 28 teams providing them with accommodation and
food. It was a huge task but we thank God everything went on well,’’ Musikeri noted.
He added, “For the first time we had huge fan base, people came
in large numbers to watch the game. From all dimensions it was so successful.”
The main sponsors were Kajiado County Government through the
Department of Sports alongside an online betting firm, which provided playing kits.
County Director of Sports Shadrack Maya has cooperates to come on board and
help in exploiting sports talents.
“This is one of the biggest tournaments in Kajiado County as you
can see; it picks the best 4 teams from each zone of FKF League. This imitative
needs a lot of support because here we have an opportunity of Kajiado County announcing
herself to the word that we have some of the best talents.
He went on, “We had only two sponsors, in future we call upon
anyone who wishes to join us to do so, so that we better this tournament and
give our players an opportunity to showcase their talents. The scouts could end
up picking some of them, and that’s how stories of success are written.”
Both winners from women and men categories were awarded uniforms,
trophies and cash prizes.
Next year’s tournament will be played in December in a yet to be
disclosed venue.
