No room for error, City Stars fire salvo

Nairobi City Stars has fired a salvo to potential title contenders in an already charged National Super League to brace for fierce battle. Speaking to Citizen Digital, City Stars assistant coach John Amboko said his boys are in high spirits and the team is focussed on winning matches. “At the moment we are focussed on winning matches, no room for error, we want to remain on top and my boys are in high spirits and very promising,” said Amboko. The Sanjin Alagic coached side produced the highlight display of the week in the seven matches played at the weekend beating Kenya Police 3-2 at the Karuturi grounds. Both teams started their encounter with much intent, trading some end to end action in Naivasha. Goals from Antony” Muki” Kimani, Ebrimah Sanneh and Salim Abdala saw City Stars maintain their top slot on the log with 19 points, four points ahead of second placed Bidco United who are on 15. Elsewhere, Administration Police and Vihiga United shared spoils as the game ended with a 1-1 draw at Camp Toyoyo. Vihiga squandered a host of chances with the best coming in 26th when Kelvin Opiyo failed to convert a cross from Leslie Otieno that went wide over the bar.
