The project, spearheaded by NOCK President Shadrack Maluki and First Deputy President Barnaba Korir, represents a significant step in strengthening youth development through sport.
The center is expected to provide a structured environment where young people can nurture their talents while embracing discipline, education, and life skills.
Speaking on the partnership, Maluki said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment between NOCK and Koitalel University College to use sport and education as complementary tools for empowering the next generation.
“The National Olympic Committee of Kenya is proud to partner with Koitalel University College in establishing an Olympiafrica Sports Centre.
"This is a major step toward expanding structured access to sport for young people across the country.
"Our shared vision is to nurture responsible, empowered, and disciplined youth through the combined power of sport and education,” Maluki said.
Koitalel University College Principal Prof. Winston Jumba Akala welcomed the partnership, noting that the institution has committed to becoming a center for sports science to support athletes’ development and train sports medicine doctors.
“Let NOCK and Koitalel work together to grow Koitalel to be the center of excellence in sports science in this country because that is where we are.” Said Prof. Akala.
He noted that the center will serve as a hub for promoting Olympic values, structured youth engagement, and community development.
It will also align with Kenya’s national priorities on education and sports development, reinforcing the role of sport as a driver of positive social transformation.
Maluki emphasized that sport must go hand in hand with education in shaping character, leadership, and opportunity.
Through the Olympiafrica Sports Centre, NOCK aims to build sustainable systems that not only identify and develop talent but also instill integrity, teamwork, and resilience.
The initiative further underscores NOCK’s commitment to positioning sport as a powerful force for social good—one that builds champions on the field and responsible leaders beyond it.
