National Super League (NSL) outfit MOFA FC have initiated a significant reshuffle as they bid to challenge for the second-tier title next season.

With eight players having left the club, the sophomores have moved with speed to rope in their replacements early enough as part of their preseason plans.

MOFA have bolstered the technical bench as they chase FKF Premier League promotion.

In an official communication, the club confirmed the departures of Tony Nyang'or, Kevin Owidi, Erick Ongiri, Collins Otieno, Leon Bodo, Erick Majura, Clinton Okite, and Syphas Otieno, marking a significant transition from last season’s lineup.

To fill the gaps, the club has moved swiftly in the transfer market, securing the services of Nelson Amunga from Kisumu All Stars and Bakari Temo from Msato FC in Kilifi.

The club has also strengthened its technical bench by appointing Dick Orongo as the new strength and conditioning coach.

This move aims to improve the team's physical competitiveness throughout the long season.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, club Communication Director Bonface Osano shed light on the rationale behind the changes:

“We were attracted to Coach Bruno because of how well he displays attacking football. His philosophy aligns perfectly with our identity and long-term goals.”

Osano emphasized that all player movements are done collaboratively and in consultation with the technical bench.

“The technical bench is always consulted when it comes to player signings and releases. We want to make sure we build a team that can compete and challenge effectively,” he said.

MOFA are currently deep in pre-season and will engage in friendly matches to test combinations and integrate new arrivals.

Osano reiterated the club’s 2026–2028 strategic plan, where top-flight promotion remains the primary ambition.

“As part of MOFAs' 2026-2028 strategic plan, one of our prime ambitions is to earn promotion to the top-flight league. That’s the goal. But we admit it won’t be easy, but that is the aim,” he noted. ” he concluded.

The team finished 7th in the 2024/25 NSL season and is targeting a top-three finish this time as they look to turn ambition into reality.
