NSL: Mulembe United rally from two goals down to hold Kajiado

Mulembe United FC shocked host club Kajiado FC Saturday afternoon coming from behind to force a 2-2 draw in a National Super League match played at Ildamat Stadium, Kajiado County.

Erick Ombija’ goal gave the host an opener in the 32nd minute before he netted the second, one minute later to give Kajiado FC 2-0 lead before the match headed for half break.

On resumption Mulembe United came in charged mounting a lot of pressure to the home team which yielded fruits in the 52nd minute when Saul Ben Clinical shot found itself behind the net to rekindle hopes for the visitors.

The pressure didn’t end there as the visiting team kept on pushing and in the 81st minute of the match the laxity from Kajiado FC side gave Mulembe United an opportunity to equalize through Saul Ben.

Kajiado FC head coach Francis Xavier blamed laxity from his side’s draw.

On the other side Mulembe FC leadership led by Chairperson Indimuli Kahi expressed optimism of remaining afloat in the league despite financial challenges facing the team.
