Naivas FC head coach Elvis Ayany has made it clear that his side is determined to settle scores when they face Luanda Villa FC this weekend, in what promises to be a highly competitive encounter in the National Super League.

‎Speaking to Citizen Digital ahead of the competition, Ayany revealed that the team is motivated by the memory of their narrow 1-0 defeat to Luanda Villa in the first leg, and they are keen to turn the tables this time around.

‎"They outplayed us in the first leg, they utilized their chances well and took maximum points, but right now you can't count your game before kickoff, you only do that after the final," he said.

‎Despite Luanda Villa’s recent struggles for form, the Naivas tactician has cautioned his players against complacency, stressing the importance of maintaining full concentration throughout the match.

‎“We respect Luanda Villa, and regardless of their recent results, we will treat this game with the seriousness it deserves,” Ayany said, adding that every fixture from now on is being approached like a cup final.

‎Naivas are currently enjoying a positive run, having secured a vital 1-0 victory over Soy United in their last match. That win pushed them up to 13th on the standings with 28 points and boosted confidence within the squad.

‎With momentum on their side, Ayany is now targeting a run of three straight victories as Naivas look to climb further up the table and secure a strong finish to the season.
