Vihiga Queens' coach, Boniface Nyamunyamu, attributed their weekend's loss to a lack of composure, particularly among his strikers.
This assessment follows their 1-0 defeat to rivals Kenya Police Bullets FC in a captivating match played at the Police Sacco Stadium.
The visitors conceded in the 8th minute when Kenya Police Bullets midfielder Lydia Akoth converted from the penalty spot.
"There has been a lack of composure from our players, especially when we are in possession. We missed more than just one or two chances," Coach Boniface remarked.
Despite the loss, Boniface expressed satisfaction with his team's overall performance, noting a commendable display of football. He acknowledged that luck did not favour them on that day.
"I am impressed by the quality of football displayed by my players even though we didn’t win the match," he added.
Kenya Police Bullets FC coach, Beldine Odemba, on her side acknowledged the tough challenge presented by Vihiga Queens. She expressed gratitude for the victory despite the difficult nature of the game.
"The match was challenging for my players, but I am thankful we secured the three points despite the tough contest," she said.
As she navigates her inaugural coaching stint with the team in the competition, Odemba emphasized the importance of taking each match one step at a time.
