FC tactician Salim Babu says his side is under no pressure to keep performing following
their surprisingly impressive start to the FKF Premier League season.
The club
that barely survived relegation last year has been the league’s standout team
for its showcase football and are joint top of the standings with champions
Tusker FC on points.
Coach Salim
Babu underscored they are calm to avoid putting big demands on themselves like
starting to think they can win the league title.
“For us as a
team, finishing in top position will be good for us. The boys are ambitious and
this season we won’t struggle with fighting relegation, at the same time we
don’t want to look over ambitious by discussing the League title.
“We decided
to make Sudi a fortress this season, we don’t want any team to pick points here.
We want to ensure we do not find ourselves in relegation form like last year,” Babu
told Citizen Digital.
Nzoia have
24 points after 12 league rounds, leaving them trailing only Tusker on goal
difference ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Ulinzi Stars in Langata.
