Nzoia thrash Wazito to go top of FKF-PL
Nzoia Sugar FC have climbed to the top of the FKF-PL after thrashing Wazito FC 4-0 in one of the mid-week league encounters played at the Sudi Stadium.
The in-form Millers
were buoyed by Tusker’s two-all draw against Talanta FC with the defending
champions failing to bag maximum points for a third consecutive match.
Meanwhile,
AFC Leopards bounced back to winning ways after edging Mathare United 2-1 at
the Nyayo Stadium.
Despite finishing
the match with 10 men after Collins Shivachi was given his marching orders, Musa
Oundo and Cliff Nyakeya goals were enough to move Leopards to eighth on the log
with 11 points.
Leopard’s
coach Patrick Aussems was delighted with his team bagging maximum points.
“I told my players
that a good team never loses two matches in a row. We therefore came here for a win. We also had a
lot of opportunities to add more goals but the most important thing is that we
have the three points,” Aussems said in his post-match interview.
Kariobangi Sharks played to 3-all draw against Vihiga Bullets with 19-time Kenyan premier league champions Gor Mahia registered a barren draw against 2009 champions Sofapaka as Ulinzi stars and KCB secured narrow wins against Bandari and Nairobi City Stars respectively.
