Nzoia's Babu hails Tusker draw, hopeful of dodging the relegation axe
Nzoia Sugar FC tactician Salim Babu has lauded his
team for playing to his instructions against Football Kenya Federation Premier
League defending champions Tusker on Sunday, saying they had prepared well for
the match and the point earned after a two-all-draw was not by fluke.
The draw saw the Sudi-based millers move further
towards safety in the league.
Babu believes they are on the right path to dodge
the drop.
"We had prepared well for the match. Football
is a game of instructions and the players played just how I wanted and put in
the effort,” he explained. “This vital point has pushed us above the relegation
zone and we will take it from there, we want to move away from the relegation
area completely, we want to be safe and you can see my boys are in high spirits
to ensure this is done," Babu told Citizen Digital.
The millers are placed 15th on the log with 30
points just three above the revived 16th-placed Vihiga Bullets who
are also fighting to dodge the axe.
Meanwhile, with three matches remaining, Tusker sit
second on the FKF-PL log with 57 points, three behind league leaders Kakamega
Homeboyz who played to a one-all-draw against Gor Mahia on Saturday.
