Obiri, Cheruiyot headline Stockholm meet provisional list
After recording resounding victories in the first leg of the 2020 Diamond League in Monaco last Friday, Kenyan athletes will be aiming for another majestic show in the second leg of the meet set for Stockholm this Sunday.
World 5,000m champion Hellen Obiri who set a new meeting record over the distance when she clocked 14:22.12 in Monaco, outsprinting world 10,000m silver medalist Letesenbet Gidey of Ethiopia and Timothy Cheruiyot who also won in the 1,500m race at the Monaco meet have all been confirmed in the provisional list for the Stockholm leg.
Other top athletes set to compete at the meet are Norwegian Karsten Warholm and American middle-distance runner Donavan Brazier.
