AFC Leopards chief stewart John Odemba has called upon the fans to be patient despite the Club’s inconsistent form in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).

Leopards succumbed to a 3-2 loss to Nairobi City Stars at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday to suffer their fourth defeat of the season as they sit 15th in the league with eight points, just one above the relegation zone.

Ingwe fans engaged police in running battles after the match as they expressed their anger over the loss at some point demanding to have talks with captain Wahington Munene.

"We have talked with the fans telling them to tone down and be united with our players. They should talk to our players in a nice way and in a low tone and not harshly.

We have to use a friendly way to send the message to our players and I have a feeling that things will be back to where we expect", said Odemba.

Odemba says there is still a lot to play for in the league this season backing Leopards to climb up the ladder to the top.

"We can't think of the dangers of a possible relegation now because we still have a lot of matches to play. Our players are still young and inexperienced and are yet to gel after new players came on board.

Remember there was a time Gor Mahia were 18th on the log but ended up finishing second so we should not rule out our boys as well.” Odemba told Mulembe FM.

He however questioned some of the players’ dedication to the club.

We have new players whom we intended to bolster the squad with this season. But now the problem is some players are yet to fit into the system of play and look like they are not sure of what they are doing on the pitch", Odemba concluded.

Leopards next face league leaders Posta Rangers before taking on Tusker and later facing off with Kakamega Homeboyz in their next three fixtures.
