Odhiambo hattrick dampens Bandari, Tusker up second
Striker Bernard Odhiambo was the chief tormentor as Zoo Kericho FC edged a five-goal thriller over Bandari FC at the Kericho Green Stadium.
Zoo had led 2-0 inside the opening 20 minutes and with a rousing home atmosphere on the afternoon, they seemed to be coasting to easy victory but in the end the 3-2 result felt hard-earned.
The visitors will feel robbed of at least a point with a late goal ruled out for offside. It as close as they came a successful fightback after goals from Enock Agwanda and Shaban Kenga set up a tense final minutes.
That decision sparked fierce protests but it stood as Zoo climbed 13th on the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) log while Head Coach Paul Nkata’s men slumped a second successive defeat.
Champions Tusker moved second, just a point behind leaders Gor Mahia FC, following their 2-0 win away at struggling Mathare United.
