The twin encounters are set for June 7 and 9 in Morocco, serving as key tune-ups for Kenya's campaigns in the CHAN tournament and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Bandari quintet lighting up the national radar includes experienced goalkeeper Faruk Shikhalo, defensive stalwarts Siraj Mohammed and Swaleh Pamba—the latter receiving his maiden Harambee Stars call—midfield engine David Sakwa, and red-hot striker Beja Nyamawi.
Head coach Ken Odhiambo is beaming with pride, after his stars were named in the Benni McCarthy-coached squad, hailing the achievement as a reflection of the hard work and quality within his squad.
“These five players have shown immense quality and commitment. Their contribution to the team’s recent success cannot be overstated,” he said.
Odhiambo emphasized that Bandari’s growing footprint on the national football scene is no coincidence.
With more players stepping up and drawing attention from the national selectors, it’s clear the Mombasa-based club is on an upward trajectory.
“It’s a big deal to have five of our players called up. It reflects not only their individual progress but also the development and ambition of Bandari FC as a club. If they make the final squad for the Chad matches, it’s a win for all of us—and a huge motivation heading into next season.”
With South African tactician McCarthy now steering the Harambee Stars, the Chad friendlies are expected to be more than just warm-ups—they're auditions for a new era in Kenyan football.
