Odhiambo’s Bandari seek consistency after righting ship
The Dockers moved third in the league standings on 16 points after superb display in a midweek 2-0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks on Wednesday, sitting five points adrift of leaders KCB.
Bandari have lost once in their last five matches but Odhiambo wants more from his charges after dropping points twice and one loss in those recent five matches.
“I’m confident that we will bag maximum points against City Stars tomorrow in Machakos and edge closer to top of the league. We are taking game after game despite setbacks due to injured players.”
“Dockers" who are the only coast team in KPL, have once again felt burdened by long travels week in week out for away matches,” he said.
"It has not been easy, from Mombasa to Mumias to play Kakamega homeboyz almost 800 kilometers, get back to Mombasa another 800 kilometers and without a rest you take on Kariobangi sharks and now we are heading to Machakos to play City stars. There should be a mechanism on teams like us because I feel we are disadvantaged.”
“I'm happy for my boys, they are always motivated despite the long travels, we said we must come out strong and show our character in each and every match, either coast or away.”
Bandari travelled to Machakos without their captain Andrew Juma who is out for the rest of the season due to knee injury with midfielder Robert Onyango also set to sit out the fixture.
Kakamega are languishing 16th on nine points after ten rounds.
