Bandari FC
team manager Albert Ogari has lauded plans by top flight clubs to have the
premier league commence mid next month.
Clubs’ Chief
Executives met yesterday in a Nairobi hotel where they resolved to have the new
premier league season start next month between 12 and 21.
“We joined
other clubs in the top tier for the next month and plan to have the league on
from next month because we have been in the cold for long,” said soft-spoken
Ogari.
At the same
time, Ogari is hoping the Dockers will have their injured players back to full
fitness when the league commences.
“Omar Somo Bwana
has resumed training and we hope more will be back if the set date becomes
reality.”
He added,
“Mohamed Abeid and Dennis Magige are the only players we will miss for long but
the rest will be fit to fight for the place in the team”.
Bandari had
pitched camp in Nairobi for their pre-season training before the FKF transition
committee postponed the league indefinitely.
They have
also played a number of friendly matches as Ogari said now they will only play
among their squad to avoid more injuries until the exact date is announced.
The Coastal-based
side finished fourth last season and after bolstering their squad they have now
set their sights on winning maiden league title.
Bandari and
Nzoia Sugar sent their apologies when the Club’s chiefs met yesterday in
Nairobi.
