Okoth wants quick Shabana response after Vihiga draw
National Super League giants Shabana tactician Sammy Okoth has
rued profligacy in front of goal for their barren stalemate against former
FKF-PL outfit Vihiga United at Gusii stadium on Sunday.
In his assessment of their performances on Sunday afternoon,
Okoth felt their midweek clash against Mombasa Elite in Mombasa took a huge
toll on his charges as evidenced by their slow start to the game.
The seasoned tactician is however confident their will shake off
their weekend struggles to return to winning ways in their next match against Mara
Sugar.
“It is good to collect a point but I feel we should have come
out on top had we made the most of the chances that came our way.
“We took long to settle into the game due to the fact that we
had a midweek game in Mombasa but I expect us to carry on with our good run
when the league matches resume next year.”
The Gusii Stadium-based side occupies second spot on the NSL log
level on points with league leaders Kibera Black Stars.
Vihiga United coach Mike Mururi is adamant the point they
collected away will spark good fortunes for his struggling side that iw winless
after three outings this season.
“I have seen our willingness to grow and become better and today’s
result is a vindication of my assessment.
“Am confident in the ability of my players to have a good season
despite our recent struggles.”
