Omalla goal sends Gor top of the table

On-form striker Benson Omalla struck the winning goal at the hour mark as Gor Mahia saw off Nairobi City Stars 1-0 at Kasarani Stadium, the win taking them to the summit of the table on 27 points, ahead of Nzoia Sugar at second, also on 27 points.

The win gave Gor a superior goal lead over the sugar millers who have surprisingly had an impressive start to the campaign. Across town at the Ruaraka Sports Ground, holders Tusker rallied from behind to hold battling Kariobangi Sharks to a one-all draw.

Sharks mauled their way ahead through Tyson Otieno in the 50^th minute but Majak David restored parity with a strike in the 77^th minute to ensure for shared spoils.

At the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, visiting Posta Rangers harvested all the three points beating the home side 1-0 while at Kasarani Annex, KCB dispatched Mathare United 2-1

Mathare suffered their 10th loss of the season against KCB at Kasarani Annex.

Kennedy Ochino put the bankers head in the first minute before Donald Ange equalised for the ‘slum’ boys, but Nicholas Kipkirui ensured the bankers harvested all the three points.
