Omollo confident ahead of 2018 campaign

Posta Rangers head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo is optimistic that his new signings will play an integral role in their 2018 Premier League campaign.

Omollo has so far signed Luis ‘Tera’ Misiko who was dropped by Tusker FC, Kennedy Odongo from Nakumatt FC, Calvin Odongo (Kariobangi Sharks), Jeremiah Wanjala ( Kakamega Homeboyz FC) and George Abege from Sony Sugar among others and the former Harambee Stars defender believes they have adapted to the Rangers playing system.

 “I am very happy with how the new players have integrated into the team. Basically, there is cohesion in the squad and I’m looking forward to a good season,” Pamzo told Citizen Digital.

Rangers have so far had an impressive pre-season avoiding defeat in the seven matches they’ve so far played.

“Two of our matches were against Premier League sides Zoo Kericho where we drew 0-0 and against Ulinzi Stars where we registered a 2-2 draw. I think these are good results,” he said.

The mailmen earned promotion to the top-tier league in January 2016 and have so far been impressive.

Last season they earned a fourth-place finish in the 18-team competition and Pamzo, who previously turned out for Tusker, wants to better this record.

Rangers were promoted from the National Super League in January 2016 but they managed to finish fourth in the 2017 Kenya Premier table. The coach said that he is hopeful of finishing a better position this season compared to last season.

“The most important thing is how the new signings will perform in the league now that they have adapted with the players. I expect a lot of pressure in the league but I am optimistic that my players will cope with it,” the coach said.
