The head coach of Mombasa Olympic Club, Joseph Oyoo, has made a fervent appeal today to the government and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to ensure adequate funding and stable sponsorship for all clubs across the nation.

Oyoo highlighted the unfortunate trend where numerous clubs have been compelled to withdraw from various leagues due to financial constraints.

"As the new season approaches, it's imperative for both the government and the federation to collaborate and guarantee that no team is left without a sponsor. It's disheartening to witness clubs like Trans Nzoia Falcons exit the league due to financial difficulties," Oyoo emphasized.

Additionally, the coach urged FKF to take a cue from Tanzania, where each club is equipped with its travelling van. He suggested that such an initiative would not only enhance the strength of Kenyan clubs but also provide greater visibility for players, thereby opening up opportunities for talent both domestically and internationally.

"In Tanzania, every team has its vehicle for travel. If Kenya adopts a similar approach, it would bolster our clubs and amplify the exposure of our players," Oyoo remarked.

Oyoo's statement coincides with a period of turmoil within the FKF women's premier league, marked by a host of issues including financially struggling clubs being compelled to withdraw from the league.
