‘Pamzo’ confident Shabana will evade the dreaded relegation axe
Despite collecting just a point against Nairobi City Stars at the weekend in a Kenyan Premier League match,
Shabana FC head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo is optimistic that his side will
catch up and avoid relegation before the season concludes.
He was speaking after they held Nairobi City Stars to a
barren draw in Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos where both teams were reduced to 10 men with Shabana’s Prince Ayeko and Newton Ochieng of City Stars both shown
matching orders.
"The boys played as per the orders. We were just
unlucky to get maximum points from the match," said Pamzo, adding that,
"We even played better when we were 10 men but we didn’t utilised our
created chances.”
The former Kenya international has at the same time said they are targeting maximum points when they host Tusker in their next
encounter in Homa Bay County.
"I will give the boys some rest before preparing for
the next tough assignment against Tusker FC where we will count on the home
advantage to emerge victorious."
The Glamour Boys are placed 17th, deep in the relegation zone, with
18 points from 20 matches.
