Photos: Anthony Martial gives Man of the Match award to daughter

After a brilliant display at St. Mary’s Stadium that saw him get the Man of the Match award, Manchester United decided to share the joy with his daughter.

Anthony Martial’s wife Samantha Martial posted a photo on her Instagram account on Sunday night with the award by their baby daughter. Martial also took to twitter to Thank God for the performance.

Martial scored twice to help Manchester United beat Southampton 3-2 in a match played at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday. Juan Mata scored Manchester United’s third goal.

The French U21 striker’s brilliance attracted praise from Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal who believes that the former Monaco striker still has a lot to offer.

“When you are 19, you cannot expect consistency. Emotionally they shall have a lot of dips so that I expect also from him but that is not a big problem for me.

“He adapts to the system of how we want to play, which is also important. Not every player can but he shows he wants to do that,” said Van Gaal.

Martial, who moved to Manchester United in a £36m transfer, now has three goals from his two Premier league games having scored his first goal in a 3-1 thrashing of Liverpool last weekend after he came in as a substitute.

Van Gaal was also pleased that United stuck to their philosophy of possession based football during the victory.

The win moves Manchester United to second in the table, two points behind league leaders Manchester City who lost 2-1 to West Ham on Saturday.
