The stage is set for the second leg of the 2025 National Sevens Circuit as the Prinsloo 7s returns to Nakuru on August 2–3.

The pools were confirmed during the Driftwood 7s final at Mombasa Sports Club, setting the tone for another action-packed weekend of sevens rugby.

Defending Prinsloo 7s champions Strathmore Leos headline Pool B and will lock horns once again with Driftwood 7s finalists Menengai Oilers in what promises to be a fierce rematch. The pool also includes Daystar Falcons and Driftwood Division 2 winners, Zetech Oaks, making it one of the most competitive groups of the tournament.

Pool A will see tournament hosts Nakuru RFC battle it out with reigning National Sevens Circuit champions Kenya Harlequin, newcomers Kabete Stallions, and coastal side Mombasa RFC. With home support behind them, Nakuru will be looking to deliver a strong performance and upset the more established Nairobi outfits.

In Pool C, recently crowned Driftwood 7s winners KCB Rugby will begin their campaign against a resurgent Nondescripts side, Catholic Monks, and invitational team Kisumu RFC. KCB’s clinical form in Mombasa has made them early favorites to dominate again in Nakuru.

Pool D offers a mouthwatering Kakamega derby as Kabras RFC faces their fierce local rivals MMUST. The two will be joined by Impala RFC and a Mwamba side that, despite their struggles in the opening leg, have received an invitation to compete and will be eager to make a statement.

Strathmore Leos will return to Nakuru with fond memories, having won the 2024 edition of the Prinsloo 7s by beating Nondies 33–7 in the final, securing their first Prinsloo title in 15 years.

With five more legs on the calendar, the 2025 edition promises drama, fierce rivalries, and high stakes as the top clubs in the country chase glory across the circuit. All roads now lead to the Nakuru Athletic Club for what promises to be a thrilling Prinsloo 7s weekend.
