Resurgent Bandari add to Mathare's relegation woes

Bandari FC
piled more trouble on Mathare United with a 3-0 win during their midweek FKF
Premier League match at the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.
The result
marked an eighth straight league defeat for Mathare who remained 16th on the
standings with 22 points, six away from safety.
It was
another impressive performance by Bandari under new coach Twahir Muhiddin who
has seen his side now hit 10 goals in three days following Sunday’s 7-2 win
against Vihiga Bullets.
They got
their through Umaru Kasumba, Abdallah Hassan and William Wadri.
In 27th
minute of the match, Mathare almost capitalized from a poor play from Bandari
right back Amai Atariza but Douglas Koech shot went wide.
After half
an hour mark, the home side confidence rised pumping more pressure to Mathare
United box and deffender Geoffrey Ochieng header almost ended in their net.
Bandari danger
man Umar Kasumba gave them the lead at 42nd minute of the match after heading
home a cross from Amai Atariza .
Three minutes
later Kasumba almost doubled the lead but this time he powers a header over the
top bar after a foul kick by Burudian Nahimana Shassiri.
The home
team went on halftime ahead with much to play at second half.
Bandari came
back strong for second half and they got their second after 6 minutes through
Harambee stars winger Abdallah Hassan thunder shot at 18 yard box.
At top of an
hour mark Mathare new man Elijah Mwanzia almost gave them their first goal but
his poor header was cleared safely by Bandari Captain Andrew Juma.
Two minutes
later Curtis Wekesa shot from 6 yard box went inches wide as the Mathare pushed
for a consolation goal.
The homeside
maintained calm and three minutes to end of the macth Ugandan striker William
Wadri made it 3-0 after exchanging passes with James Kinyanjui.
