Rugby player Kibet killed in Nakuru after night attack
Antony Kibet succumbed to stab wounds after he was attacked
by unknown assailants on Saturday night in Nakuru, Menengai Oilers have confirmed.
The center half was in the company of teammate Ibrahim 'Bobo'
Otieno who is undergoing treatment with the club confirming to be in stable
condition.
The two were alongside two other ladies who were unhurt
during the incident.
"Menengai Oilers Rugby Club would like to report that
one of our players has succumbed to stab wounds following an attack by unknown
assailants on Saturday night," Oilers said in a statement.
According to sources the four had been watching a football
match when they were attacked by the three assailants who sped away on a boda boda.
Nakuru Police County Commander Peter Mwanza said they have launched
investigations into the fateful incident that has plunged the Kenyan rugby
fraternity into shock and mourning.
Many Rugby fans have complained of being robbed in Nakuru the
latest being the last leg of the National sevens circuit of Prinsloo.
