Safe-guarding top-flight status is top goal for Bidco
Bidco United coach Anthony Akhulia has said his main target is to retain their top-tier status in theFootball Kenya Federation Premier League but not challenge for the gong.
The Thika-based outfit were promoted to the Kenyan top-tier this season and have surprised many with their decent results.
The new kids on the block produced a stunning 3-1 win to jolt Ingwe’s chances of moving clear at the top of the FKF Premier League table on Sunday.
Prior to their win against AFC Leopards, the debutants had held Bandari to a 1-1 draw at Mbaraki Sports Club.
They are currently place 11th position on the table having collected 22 points from 17 matches they have played, making a title chase a tall order
“We have come a long way and finally we are dining with the big boys. My main objective this season is to help the team survive. It does not matter whether we finish the league on top or second, or even 15th as long as we stay up.
“From there we will have enough experience on how to approach our second season in the league and set attainable objectives,” he said.
Bidco defeated Ingwe 1-3 and Akhulia explained what the results meant to his players.
“They are big points for us in the sense that they help in building our confidence in the league. We are taking every game with the seriousness it deserves.
“No team is underrated; our aim remains one, give the best with a target of maximum points. It is always the same regardless of who we are playing.”
