Saracens stun KCB to book Kabras final date
Impala Saracens full back Antony Odhiambo lifted his side past KCB RFC with a sensational 50-meter kick to decide the epic Enterprise Cup semi-finals clash with an 11-10 victory at the RFUEA ground on Saturday.
KCB led 10-8 into the closing minutes before Odhiambo picked his moment to stun the Bankers and set up his side for a final meeting with Kabras Sugar who demolished Kenya Harlequins 54-11 in the other last four clash.
Impala scored two penalties and unconverted try against the bankers converted try and a penalty.
Impala Saracens winger Quinto Ongo scored a penalty for the Ngong road side to hand them a 3-0 lead.
But after some minutes KCB prop Curtis Lilako alias ‘Curtlow’ went over for the bankers with Kenya international Jacob Ojee adding the extras to make it 7-3.
Kenya Simba’s captain Davis Chenge who trades for KCB got a sin bin reducing his side to 14 players after playing a high tackle to Impala’s Keter.
Impala’s Billy Omondi side stepped the KCB defense running to the right corner to score a try with Quinto missing the post by mere centimeters for an 8-7 lead.
Tyson Okoth got a sin bin to leave Impala with 14 players which allowed Ojee to score a penalty making it 10-8 for the bankers.
But when KCB thought they were in the finals in the last minutes Odhiambo spoilt their party with a sublime kick which gave Impala the victory at full time.
Impala saracens will play Kabras Sugar who are looking for a cup double on Saturday 25 May.
